RESEARCH
DIVISION
Following
activities are being undertaken by the Research Division of
the Department of Official Language for the propagation &
publicity of the Official Language Hindi-
1.
Rajbhasha Bharati (quarterly)
‘Rajbhasha
Bharati’, the quarterly Hindi magazine of the Department of
Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs has an unique
place amongst Government magazines.
While the other magazines cater to the requirements of
the officials of their respective offices, Rajbhasha Bharati
is the only magazine which is dedicated to the propagation of
Hindi amongst all the offices and officials of the Central
Government and also brings out articles on Hindi Language,
Scientific and Technical subjects as well.
Moreover, efforts undertaken by different offices of
the Central Govt. for the use of Hindi & different events,
workshops for the purpose and also the meetings of the TOLIC
are brought out prominently.
Rules/ instructions etc. regarding the Official
Language Hindi are also published in this magazine. 110
Volumes of Rajbhasha Bharati have been brought out till date.
During the year 2000 Swarna Jayanti Visheshank, Arthik
Visheshank and Rajbhasha Swarna Jayanti Smarika were also
brought out. The
Oct-Dec 2004 issue of the Rajbhasha Bharati was brought out as
Kavya Visheshank. Vol
111 is presently under printing.
2.
Preparation & Distribution of Standard Hindi Books list
Preparation & Distribution of Standard Hindi Books
is being carried out since 1990.
During the year 2005 a list containing 2,156 Books was
prepared and distributed amongst the Central Govt. Offices.
Lists of 21,006 books have been prepared and
distributed till now.
This list is also available on this portal.
All the Central Govt. Offices are expected to purchase
books for their offices/ libraries from the list.
3.
Annual Programme
An annual
programme prescribing targets for the implementation of the
Official Language Policy in various Ministries/ Deptt./
Offices/ Undertakings and Nationalized Banks etc. is prepared
and published. Copies
of the Annual Programme are distributed
amongst all Ministries/ Departments/ Offices/
Undertakings and Nationalized Banks.
This Programme is applicable from 1st April
to 31st March.
Annual Programme for the year 2006-07 has been
published and distributed during March 2005.

Annual Assessment Report
An Annual Report
for assessing the prescribed targets achieved is called for
from all Ministries/ Departments/ Offices/ Undertakings and
Nationalized Banks. An
assessment is made of the progress in the use of Official
Language Hindi on the basis of the information received and an
Annual Assessment Report is prepared and published.
Copies of the report are placed on
the tables of both the Houses.
Annual Assessment Report for the year 2004-05 has been
laid on the tables of both Houses on March, 2006 and copies of
the same sent to all the Ministries/ Departments of the Govt.
of India and State Govt. also.

Annual Report
A consolidated
report for the Department of Official Language and its
sub-ordinate/ Regional Offices regarding the use of Official
Language Hindi is brought out as Annual Report of the
Department. The
Annual Report for the year 2005-2006 has been prepared and
copies sent to the Ministries/ Departments and State
Governments.
6.
Compilation of Orders
The last volume of
compilation of orders/ instructions issued by the Department
was brought out during 1996.
Updated version of the compilation including orders/
instructions issued up-to June 2005 is under printing and will
be distributed subsequently.
7.
Publication & Distribution of Publicity Material
Posters/
Calendars/ T.V Spots/ Audio-Video Cassettes are prepared for
the propagation of Hindi and distributed.
This year, 10 New posters are under printing and will
be distributed during June-July.
8.
Information regarding Voluntary Hindi Organisations/ Persons/
Scholors
A data base
regarding Voluntary Hindi Organizations/ Persons/ Scholars
connected with the propagation and publicity of Hindi is
prepared by the Research Division.
9.
Messages from Home Minister/ Secretary/ Joint Secretary
Messages from Home
Minister/ Secretary/ Joint Secretary are prepared and
circulated with a view to promote the use of Official Language
Hindi. The message
of Hon’ble Home Minister is circulated to all the Central
Govt. Offices on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
Moreover the message is also broadcast/ telecast on
Doordarshan/ Akashwani.
10.
Exhibition of Books/ Journals - Magazines
Exhibitions of
Hindi Books/ Journals- magazines published by various offices
of the Govt. of India and voluntary organizations etc. are
organized at different occasions by the Research Division.
